Since the predecessor to this TV, the UND8000, is my reference active 3D TV for crosstalk reduction, I expected good things from the UNES8000.

For example while its really cool to see the 3D I don't "want" to see every movie in 3D.

That said the other LCDs also maintained black quite well, as did the VT50 plasma which, after the Sharp, had the best overall bright-room picture in the lineup.

Once I got the TV hooked up and seen the picture quality, I thought I made a big mistake.

I was searching for an "internet TV" with outstanding picture quality at a fantastic price value and the Sony KDL-55NX720 delivered.

The 240 motion flow refresh rate was excellent and brought the scenes to life like I have never seen before, even better than I remember in the movie theater.

tv built-in so I didn't need to use my PS3-the picture was even better than on the PS3 too and looked cool in upconverted 3d as well.

I even put in the 1989 Batman blu ray and was blown away at the quality.

First, a note on what I'm judging against: my last TV was a Toshiba 52" 'slim' DLP (13" deep, internal projection) at 720p, that didn't even have a built-in tuner, e.g. an "HD-ready" set from about 7 years ago.
