Rated 75% by by c|net (Jul, 2011)Update August 30, 2011: We've had the chance to test the 3D picture quality of the XBR-HX929 with new glasses, and the short story is that the issues we saw originally are still there, putting a fly in the ointment of the TV's excellent overall performance.
by c|net (Jan, 2011)Sony's KDL-HX820 is the company's second-best LCD series, and offers slick Monolithic styling and a thin edge-lit panel.

BRAVIA XBR HX929 Series by Island-BoundAs much as I liked the Samsung, I looove the 929 even more and would gladly give up the 4" in screen size over the picture the 929 is capable of producing.
BRAVIA HX820 Series by BME (Jun, 2011)Little weird though; my wife swears the screens are the same size because of it.
thickness
BRAVIA XBR HX929 Series by Keith-Hollister (Jan, 2012)Watching Avatar on this set was eye opening - the opening scene of the spaceship approaching Pandora is amazing in the sense of depth, contrast, vividness of color and inky blacks.
BRAVIA HX820 Series by Press250 (May, 2011)The edge-lit models are amazingly thin (some only 1 cm thick) ... but seriously, the 2" thickness of the HX929 doesn't present any issues I can imagine.
