Netflix, Vudu, and Amazon VOD generally exhibited the picture quality we expected, and we appreciated that many picture controls were available-including picture modes, backlight level, and advanced controls like dejudder, but excluding contrast, brightness, color, etc..

The whole affair is *very* lightweight, and the base is Not Large, so I feel like I could brush up against it accidently (at night; it's a bedroom tv) and knock it off the table.

I needed a specific size and specific thin depth for the TV, and I wanted it for a great price.

Onscreen help consists mainly of step-by-step setup guides for the remote, network, and more, and though the paper manual and accompanying Quick Start Guide are, as usual for Vizio, clear and well-written, we'd love to see better onscreen help options within individual apps, too.

The TCL actually has better perceived contrast and black levels, but falls short in color accuracy, so overall it's a scoring wash between the two.

I am not a technically inclined so I won't give you any specification details, but the color on the TV is vivid and outstanding, with guests saying the same thing.

Was extremely happy with the price of this TV even without the apps it has, but the apps are great.

The high refresh rate keeps the motion smooth and the high contrast ratio gives you crisp picture quality.

I have to say that the picture is absolutely perfect, providing crystal clear and fully saturated images.

Perfect room size and she loves playing her Tomb Raider PS3 games on it.

The picture is so sharp and beautiful and there is no problem at all with the sound.

It would have been nice to have an S-video jack for my older game systems and an extra composite input, but overall this seems like a good quality product for the price.
Vizio E Series 47" | Rated 100% by by Shorrie-H. (Dec, 2010)
No S-Video, but then again you probably have a newer DVD/BD player so the extra HDMI connections will be used.
Vizio E Series 47" | Rated 100% by by Daniel-R.-Bissell--classics-lover (Jun, 2011)
The Vizio XVT323SV is easy to set up, has a wonderful bluetooth remote, has many inputs for many different devices, and it streams Netflix very well.

I attached a HDMI cable from my Dell laptop to the Vizio XVT473SV and things seemed good.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 60% by by Smitty1 (Oct, 2010)
At some point I'll test it again and call Vizio or call upon my extended warranty, but I really only need 2 HDMI connections, and this TV has 4, so no big deal.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 100% by by SeS--SeS
the VIZIO logo on the front is too big and too bright - pretty distracting, and so much so that I got a razor blade and custom cut some electrical tape such that only the 2 "i" letters appear - hardly notice the tape and not so annoying.-one of the HDMI ports on one of the 3 units acts strangely.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 100% by by SeS--SeS

audio quality

If you have extra money to burn, the LG will give you a more stunning high def picture with better black levels, but you probably will dislike the LG's speakers, especially if you listen to a lot of music with the volume raised.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 80% by by BTX (Aug, 2010)
It came down to either this Vizio XVT3SV or the LG 47LE8500, but the better audio and matte screen of the Vizio won me over.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 100% by by Adam-R (Jan, 2011)
Which is a good thing because I did not want to purchase extra speakers or a sound bar.
Vizio E Series 47" | Rated 100% by by S.-Murphy--SuperSaver (Oct, 2012)

panel

If you can go up to 42", can afford an extra 1" of depth and the additional cost, then I'd recommend the XVT423SV: Better technology (full array w/local dimming, 10 mil:1 contrast, 240HZ) making the viewing experience even better.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 80% by by Barry-J.-Schneider--need2act
I wasn't interested in 3D and never will be so I wasn't going to pay extra for that feature even though eventually all TVs will have a dumb 3D feature.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 100% by by Husker (Feb, 2011)
My wife thought it a little dull at first, due to the matte finish, but now love the matte finish due to the suppressed reflection from our bright windows and prefers the standard setting over the vivid, extra bright images as you can watch it for longer periods without straining your eyes - and you want to watch it for longer periods!

This TV has only 1 set of red-yellow-white inputs so I had to purchase a different cord for our gaming system but that was easily solved; just make sure you look at your needs before ordering and add the extras you need.
Vizio XVT Series 47" Extra HDMI | Rated 100% by by Lilipi (Feb, 2011)
The baseball mode won't necessarily make baseball look better, but it is nice to have the extra adjustable slot if you're a serious picture tweaker.
Vizio E Series 47" | Rated 56% by by c|net (Sep, 2010)
Vizio's offering in this department is standard at this price level, aside from the extra picture modes, many named after sports.
