Yes, it suffers from clouding wich is normal for an edge lit TV this size, but unless you enjoy watching your screen with a permanent black image on it, you never notice it on regular viewing.

Update August 30, 2011: We've had the chance to test the 3D picture quality of the XBR-HX929 with new glasses, and the short story is that the issues we saw originally are still there, putting a fly in the ointment of the TV's excellent overall performance.

So I went with the vizio, for the price you get a ton of features, full array local dimming, and 3d.

If you keep your neck straight and turn on MotionFlow, the HX929 delivers very good 3D performance.

This review will apply only to the 65-inch XVT3D650SV since it basically stands alone in Vizio's lineup, with no other screen sizes that have identical features.

As much as I liked the Samsung, I looove the 929 even more and would gladly give up the 4" in screen size over the picture the 929 is capable of producing.

The colors are realistic, the black has depth, the contrast is great( I believe it is 10mill).

Watching Avatar on this set was eye opening - the opening scene of the spaceship approaching Pandora is amazing in the sense of depth, contrast, vividness of color and inky blacks.

Might be worth shopping around for the best price.-TV has a game mode (but read below, it doesn't make a huge difference because there is still some input lag).

We did not test the power consumption of this size in the Sony XBR-HX929 series, but we did test the 55-inch model.

Of course color saturation wasn't as rich as on some of the models with superior black levels, but it was still very good.

Sony doesn't include 3D glasses with the XBR-HX929, which is surprising considering the TV's high price.

The sheer size of the screen is enough to make any man child drool, but the sleekness of the frame, simplistic but appropriate glossy frame, and 2 inch thick rear panel really compliment this monster of a television.

The image was bright, "crystal clear," and the depth, once configured correctly within my 3D bluray player, was spot on with what I had come expect from 3D play back in the home.

Picture is crisp and clear, no digital blurring or skipping.

Movies/tv is brighter, crisper, sharper, and the games (xbox and ps3) are a million times better than game mode or custom mode on the Vt30.

From hockey to basketball the picture is amazing.

This set handles side-by-side or top-bottom 3D, among others, so Gears of War 3 works plenty fine in 3D.
