What’s The Sortable-hosted Quantcast CMP?

Just to review, a consent management platform (CMP) is a way for publishers to collect and manage consent from site visitors for the data their site (or sites they own) uses and stores.

It is a simplified way for publishers to stay on top of managing their site visitors’ privacy concerns, all while staying compliant with privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA. Here’s a quick review of the impact of GDPR on publishers as well as our recommended steps on CCPA. Speaking of CCPA (which will be enforced by July 1st, 2020),

“Businesses are required to provide a clear notice at or before the point of collection of personal information. Consumers have the right to know about and delete any personal information that is collected, disclosed or sold. And businesses have to honor the consumer’s right to opt out of the sale of personal information.”

Sounds simple, but the implementation takes time and effort. That’s where the Sortable-hosted Quantcast content management platform comes in.

What’s the Sortable-hosted Quantcast CMP?

In partnership with Quantcast, we have upgraded our hosted CMP solution to be compliant with both current (GDPR) and upcoming (CCPA) privacy regulations and industry standards.

Our hosted integration of Quantcast’s CMP will include options for publishers to implement a “Do Not Sell My Information” link for CCPA, along with a module covering GDPR.

The California Attorney General’s enforcement of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is scheduled to begin July 1, 2020. The digital advertising industry is also working to adopt the IAB’s updated Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF 2.0) for GDPR, with the current version (1.1) to be deprecated by June 30, 2020.

What does this mean for you?

Less stress when it comes to managing your site visitor’s data privacy!

Let’s say a user in the European Economic Area (EEA) visits your site. They will be prompted to consent to third parties collecting and processing data.

If they click, “Allow all and close,” subsequent ad requests will include consent for personalized ads.

If they click, “Manage your choices,” they are able to select, in finer detail, which partners will be able to collect and process data, and for what purpose.

Maintaining privacy compliance is not a simple task. That’s why we’re streamlining the process for you.

Sortable’s hosted Quantcast CMP includes default sticky or floating links to provide users under the jurisdictions of CCPA or GDPR with the opportunity to manage their consent settings while visiting your site.

You can customize the location of these links to provide your site’s visitors with an optimal user experience.

User data is the backbone of the advertising ecosystem. It touches everyone from advertisers to publishers. Their concern about their data and privacy isn’t something that can be ignored — it’s also something that can involve heavy fines if not handled with care.

We know that staying on top of consent management isn’t easy. That’s why you need a CMP solution that simplifies user consent and manages user data privacy for you.

Sortable’s hosted Quantcast CMP solution ensures that your site obtains user consent and shares appropriate signals for CCPA and GDPR with downstream vendors through our platform.

However, there may still be action required on your part. Any information shared by Sortable should not be taken as a substitute for legal advice. We still encourage you to reach out to your legal counsel to ensure absolute compliance. For your convenience, here’s a GDPR checklist and a CCPA compliance framework for you to refer to.

Privacy protection shouldn’t be difficult. So let’s simplify it, with the Sortable-hosted Quantcast CMP. Interested in learning more about this solution? You can ask all your burning questions at team@sortable.com.
